Recently we’ve been hearing a lot about skin and wrinkle patches and how they can help supply the needed nutrients and peptides to your skin to help diminish the site of wrinkles. And while there are many new brands out there, we wanted to compare two brands that we’ve been hearing a lot of buzz about: Oia and The Glow Fairy. Both have garnered some big reviews, so we thought we’d give them the ol’ college try.
First, we tried The Glow Fairy, a new beauty brand offering solutions for wrinkles, dark spots, and stretch marks. While they have a nice array of products, we focused on their Wrinkle Erasers.
Let’s start with WE LOVE THIS PRODUCT. The Glow Fairy really pulled all the stops for an effective wrinkle patch that hydrates while supplying highly effective ingredients to help diminish wrinkles and boost your skin’s health for younger-looking, more plump skin. Their secret weapon? 450 self-dissolving microneedles. These microneedles, made from the ingredients you need to refine lines and reverse wrinkles, infiltrate the first layers of skin to deliver all the essential nutrients and antioxidants you need. The microneedles are comprised of plant based collagen to reduce the appearance of wrinkles, didpeptide-2 to rebuild skin cells, and superoxide dismutase to prevent further damage. It’s the perfect combination. Results take about 3 weeks if you use the patches overnight twice a week, which means these are some of the fastest-acting patches on the market.

Our second review was for Oia Anti-Wrinkle 2.0 skn patches. Oia has a nice line of skin patches for the face, all claiming to help diminish wrinkles. To be honest, it’s a little hard to know which ones to choose from as they all seem to do the same thing but for a different price. It didn’t give us a lot of confidence right away. However, we were willing to try them out. Oia’s Anti-Wrinkle 2.0 patches offer one ingredient: Dimethicone, a 100% medical grade silicone. It’s a highly effective moisturizer that helps lock in moisture and increase blood flow to your skin for a youthful glow. But… that’s it. No other ingredients to help boost collagen or to rebuild skin cells. Just moisture. And while that’s good, we realized we could get that and so much more from other products. Plus, the price is quite high for not offering that much.
Our suggestion: go with a more affordable moisturizer if you’re looking for hydration. If you’re looking for a highly effective wrinkle patch, choose Glow Fairy.

Personally, I never believed in the effectiveness of wrinkle patches or creams. There’s a lot of brands out there claiming they work, but most don’t. I’ve had too many friends tricked into buying some wild cream just to find out it’s a waste of money. So I’ve avoided it at all costs.
But then my best friend, who I trust with my life, swore by Glow Fairy Wrinkle Erasers. She said it worked within 3 weeks. I, of course, didn’t believe her. Step 1: When you pull Glow Fairy's Wrinkle Erasers from their package, you'll notice small bumps along the patch. Those are the microneedles. It's actually 450 self-dissolving microneedles infused with antioxidants and hydrating nutrients. All the ingredients you want to fight wrinkles are in the needle!
Step 2: When you apply the patch, you may feel a little prick. That’s the needle pushing through the first small layer of skin. The trouble with wrinkle creams is that they can't infiltrate deep down in the skin where the problem is the worst. Glow Fairy's microneedles are filled with hydrolyzed collagen to reduce the appearance of wrinkles, didpeptide-2 to rebuild skin cells, and superoxide dismutase to prevent further damage.
Step 3: The microneedles slowly dissolve into the skin, spreading the essential ingredients into the lowest grooves of your wrinkles. When you pull it off in the morning, the needles on the patch are gone.
After about 3 weeks is when I began to notice the fine lines around my crow's feet begin to diminish. 4 weeks and I noticed my smile lines were less significant as well.
Since then, I’ve continued to apply the patches twice a week and have seen better and better results. The time and money I save applying and buying concealers and makeup is phenomenal.
